DELINQUENT TAX BILLSThe County Clerk’s Office is responsible for collecting DELINQUENTproperty tax bills.

    • Payment Options:
      • Pay in person at our Real Estate department at our Burlington office during our normal bussiness hours: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday, Thursday & Friday                                                          8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Tuesday & Wednesday
      • Pay by mailing payment to: Boone County Clerk at P.O. Box 874 Burlington, KY 41005 
      • Pay online at https://www.boonecountyky.org/Tax_Ky_Web/Login.aspx
    • Methods of payment: 
      • Our office accepts cash, personal check, business check, cashier’s check, certified check, money order or major credit card. 
      • Make checks payable to Boone County Clerk  
PLEASE NOTE:  Our office cannot accept partial payments on delinquent tax bills.
 If you are unable to make a full payment of your delinquent tax bill you may call the
Boone County Attorney’s Office to make payment arrangements. Their phone number is (859) 334-3200. 

The CURRENT year tax is collected at the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

sale of Delinquent Tax Bills 
Each year the County Clerk’s Office is responsible for conducting a tax sale on the delinquent tax bills. During the tax sale, the delinquent tax bills are eligible to be purchased by a third party. On April 16th, the Boone County Sheriff will turn over the unpaid tax bills to the County Clerk’s Office. The tax sale may occur no earlier than 90 days and no later than 135 days after the bills have been turned over to the County Clerk’s Office. The actual date of the sale will be determined by the Revenue Department and will be posted on their website www.revenue.ky.gov. The delinquent bills must be advertised no more than 45 days and no less than 30 days before the tax sale. The 2019 delinquent tax bills will be sold in August 2020.  Please check back for more detailed information and instructions as they become available.
